Method note

The Desk combines broad news discovery with direct publication feeds, then builds an event fingerprint from normalized headlines, amounts, distinctive names and details, publisher summaries, and publication proximity. Every original source remains inside the resulting story cluster. Aggregator-discovered publishers, fan communities, fan accounts, and expert fan commentary enter the Unverified tray by default; an approved direct publication feed is required before a cluster becomes reported.
